All throughout the country there is a riveting debate about homework. Is it good or bad? In this paper I will show you how homework is bad and how it is good then give my own opinion on the matter.
Homework hurts students in many ways it also hurts their parents. In the opinion of many experts homework can “take away a kids childhood which can make the kids hate school even more, so in the future the kid won’t do well in life". What is “the value of homework?” there is none it can only keep kids up at night and take away their childhood. Homework is also very stressful but a "stupid waste of time" that can really hurt your grade if you don't do it. Your grades are all that matter in school and if kids have homework but don't do it their grades will go down. Most of the homework given out is busy work and a waste of time so it should not have effects on grades. "Parents want their kids back" most of the time their kids do homework all night until they go to bed and the parents don't get to hang out with or talk to them. Some parents think it's hurting their child's sleep time as well. Homework just has really bad effects.
Homework has benefits. Homework is good practice for tests so you can do better. Homework is a great way to get kids to practice and get good grades so you can do great things in life and live a happy life. Homework teaches you discipline. You have to sit and do your home work or pay the consequences in your grades and your life! Other countries that have a lot of successful people have a lot of work and homework!
I think homework should be limited to studying for tests and making up missed work. I don't think teachers should assign busy work just so kids have homework. School is important and learning should be fun but busy work does not help kids learn. I think kids would spend more time reading pleasure books if they had less homework. s
